Bangle Making Workshop

Silver bangle making workshop for beginners

I remember the amazing sense of achievement when I made my first piece of silver jewellery, so my own one day jewellery making workshops have been designed with this in mind. Not only do you get to take home your own handmade silver bangle at the end of the day, you will also hopefully gain some insight and appreciate of how ethical jewellery is made.

If you are looking for a relaxed and friendly jewelry making class for beginners, this two hour and a half hour session is the perfect start point. It takes place in my little garden workshop in Hanwell, West London - affectionately known as “She Cave”.

It is my opinion that everyone has a creative side and unlocking through one of my workshops gives you not only the physical joy of making something unique but there are also well-establish mental health benefits. You will receive step-by-step instruction on how to make your own recycled sterling silver bangle: from design to final polishing.

Why choose a private session for jewellery making?

The ‘She Cave’ is a small but well-equipped workspace that will comfortably accommodate myself and one or two students at a time.

I have spoken in a Guardian feature article, about the importance of having a space that was not only functional but also somewhere that’s pleasant to work. So I think you’ll enjoy visiting the ‘She Cave’ to make your own jewellery.

Where my one-day jewellery-making workshops differ from group sessions, is that you will have my undivided attention throughout giving you time to make your silver bangle exactly the way you want it, with all the help you need.

That said, this is a very hands-on session and you’ll be expected to do all of the hard work yourself! I really want you to get the full making experience - you will be using all the same tools and equipment I would use when I’m working. By the end of the session, you’ll have your very own unique silver bracelet to take home.

You will learn:

  • How to size and your bangle.

  • How to use a jeweller’s saw effectively and safely.

  • How to create texture on your bangle.

  • How to solder safely.

  • How to polish/finish.

No previous experience in metal working is needed to make your own silver bangle in a day, just an enthusiasm to learn! If you need a little inspiration, check out my Pinterest board featuring previous students’ work.

All tools and materials are provided, as well as tea, coffee and biscuits. Comfortable clothing and closed-toe footwear is recommended for safety.

The workshop takes place in my well-ventilated, cosy garden studio. There is currently no disabled access. The sessions are suitable for ages 15 and upwards. I am also DBS checked.

Flexible Booking Options

If you’re keen to try a workshop but unsure of the dates or wish to purchase one as a gift, you can choose the ‘flexible booking’ option from the drop down menu. You can then contact me via email to book a date that’s convenient for you - I do offer some weekday session on request.

If you’re looking to purchase a bangle making workshop experience as a gift, why not choose an E-gift card to the value of the workshop.

My workshop does not have toilet facilities, but students are welcome to use my home toilet.

Please feel free to contact me at angebdesigns@gmail.com if you have any other questions or check out some of my reviews here.

If you would prefer to make something smaller, take a look at my ring making workshop. If you’d like to try another method for jewellery making, I also teach a group lost wax carving workshop monthly in Ealing Broadway.
