Earrings or Pendant Making Workshop

Make your own eco-friendly silver earrings or pendant in a day

Have you ever wondered how much work goes into making jewellery? Have you ever wanted to have a try yourself? If you’ve answered “yes” to both of these questions, then my fun, hands-on workshop fits the bill!

Run out of my little garden workshop in Hanwell, West London (affectionately known as “The She Cave”), my jewellery making workshops for beginners offer a great introduction to this wonderful craft. If you’ve never been to Ealing, you’ll be pleasantly surprised: easily accessible by public transport (including the newly-opened Elizabeth Line), lots of great parks and other unique creative workshops!

This eco-friendly silver earrings or pendant making workshop comes off the back of several requests for alternative jewellery options to my ring and bangle workshops. I also enjoy sharing my love of all things handmade, as well as my desire to promote ethical and sustainable jewellery. What better way to make something sustainably than to create it yourself, and at the same time gain an appreciation of the time it takes to make jewellery by hand.

Why choose one of my private jewellery making workshops?

During my award-winning one-day jewellery workshops, I will guide you safely through each step of the process in a fun, relaxed manner. We generally start by discussing and planning your design, before giving you an overview of the making process involved in creating your pair of silver earrings or pendant.

As a patient, knowledgeable tutor I like questions and I like to make everyone feel that they can create an original piece of jewellery that they’ll love wearing!

The ‘She Cave’ is a small but well-equipped workspace that will comfortably accommodate myself and one or two students at a time. In a Guardian feature article, I spoke about the importance of having a space that was not only functional but also somewhere that’s pleasant to work in. So I think you’ll enjoy visiting the ‘She Cave’ to make your jewellery.

You will learn:

  • How to create a workable design for your silver earrings or pendant .

  • How to use a jeweller’s saw effectively and safely.

  • How to create earring wires or attachments for your pendant.

  • How to solder safely.

  • How to polish/finish your jewellery item.

Ange B Designs Jewellery Workshop

Is this silver jewellery making workshop suitable for beginners?

No previous experience in metal working is needed, just an enthusiasm to learn and try something new! Please don’t worry if you’re “not creative”, I strongly believe that EVERYONE has a creative side and it just needs the right prompts to switch it on. If you need a little inspiration, check out my Pinterest board with examples of the types of styles you could create.

The jewellery making workshops take place in my well-ventilated, cosy garden studio. There is currently no disabled access. The sessions are suitable for ages 15 and upwards. I am also DBS checked.

Flexible Date Booking Options

If you’re keen to try a workshop but unsure of dates, simply choose the ‘flexible date’ option from the drop down menu. You can then contact me via email to book a date that’s convenient for you - I do offer some weekday sessions on request. If you’re looking to purchase a workshop experience as a gift, why not choose an E-gift card to the value of the workshop.

My studio does not have toilet facilities, but students are very welcome to use my home toilet.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions or check out some of my reviews here.

If you would prefer to make something bigger, take a look at my bangle making workshop. If you’d like to try another method for jewellery making, I also teach a group lost wax carving workshop monthly in Ealing Broadway.
