This curious hand-constructed piece is part of Ange’s mixed-media brooch collection.. Made from hand-carved reclaimed sapele wood with recycled sterling silver, this beautifully-complex brooch explores the relationship between modern urban architecture and the green space around them. The distinctive asymmetric geometry of Ange’s signature style has been combined with the warm wood tones, to create something fresh. The oxidation of the inner side of the silver element adds further depth to this stunning brooch.
As a born-and-bred Londoner, Ange grew up surrounded by the wide variety of architectural design that the city has to offer, as well as its range of parks and green spaces.
